Nursing and Assistance Care Services

Dans chaque centre, un plan d’accompagnement personnalisé est élaboré pour chacun des nos résidents. Nous pouvons ainsi identifier les besoins de la clientèle admise. Notre philosophie est celle du milieu de vie. L’équipe de soins offre un support ainsi qu’un accompagnement lors des activités de la vie quotidienne de nos résidents : les activités d’hygiène, les activités de l’alimentation, les soins de confort, les activités occupationnelles ou de loisirs, les soins infirmiers, les activités de réadaptation, les soins d’urgence et les soins d’accompagnement de fin de vie.

Registered Nurse

Leader of the team she has many responsibilities. To put it simply she identifies the needs (bio-physio-social) of the resident, and assures that the nursing team works together to give the maximum in quality care. Also responsible for informing and educating the residents concerning their health, so as to assist the resident in making his own educated decisions.

Nursing Assistant

Personne qui dispense des soins infirmiers, de bien-être et les traitements requis par les résidants. Elle seconde l’infirmière en contribuant à certains procédés diagnostiques, thérapeutiques et préventifs.

Nurse’s Aide

The importance of this profession can’t be overstated; they are the direct care-givers in a nursing home and are responsible for the general care, and comfort of the resident. This includes helping with such things as, hygiene, eating, dressing, and mobility to name the primary functions.

Through the years we have come to realize the importance of this work and the lack of good training programs, so we have created our own school for Nurse’s Aides.

Registered Nursing Assistant

Is an essential member of the team that helps the nurse dispense nursing care and treatments needed by the resident. She seconds the nurse in certain diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive procedures.

Medical Services

In each centre, a team of doctors offers the following services:

1. Dispense the medical services required by resident;
2. Establishing and re-evaluating periodically medical treatments;
3. Informing the resident on the state of his health;
4. Establish good communications;
5. Weekly visits are performed by a Medical Doctor,
   and every resident is visited monthly.
6. Emergency services are available twenty-four hours
   a day seven days a week.

Pharmacy Services

Il existe un service de pharmacie dans chaque centre. Le coût de tous les médicaments prescrits est défrayé par le centre s’ils sont inscrits au formulaire de la Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec.

Occupational Therapy

Responsible for improving and maintaining the functional independence of our residents. After evaluating the needs of a resident, create, implement, and evaluate a program of different therapies to assure its objective of maximizing functional independence.

Responsible for improving and maintaining the physical capacities of our residents. After evaluating the needs of a resident, create, implement, and evaluate a program of different therapies to assure its objective of maximizing physical capacity.

Activities Department

Responsible for the social, cultural, and physical activities of the Nursing Home, this department is essential, in creating an environment that is interesting, fun and desirable for the residents. Individual, and group programs are created in accordance with the residents’ needs and wants. All social events are highlighted with an activity.

Hair and Foot Care Services

Ces services sont dispensés régulièrement à l’intérieur de chaque centre par des professionnels reconnus dans leur compétence. Les coûts sont aux frais des résidents.

Food Services

Responsible for the dietary needs of the residents, the team consists of Chefs, assistants, and a dietician. Our objective is to offer a varied menu of the highest quality that is adapted to the requests of our residents. All specialized diets and restrictions are followed, and adapted to the individual needs of the residents.

Housecleaning and Maintenance Services

Responsible for the upkeep of the building and maintenance of all equipment. Our objective is maximizing the comfort and safety by assuring that all is maintained at the highest possible level.

Laundry Services

L’entretien de la lingerie et literie est assuré par chaque centre. L’entretien des vêtements des résidents se fait par le service d’une buandière.

Administrative Services

Available to respond to any demands of an administrative nature that is requested by the residents or their families most week days.

La contribution financière de chaque résident est déterminée par la Régie d’assurance-maladie du Québec, selon la situation financière de la personne hébergée. Une personne-ressource des services financiers du Santé Courville est disponible pour répondre aux questions des résidents et des familles quant aux modalités de paiement.

Volunteer Services

The importance of volunteers can’t by overstated; the role they play is unique and valued by the residents and Centres alike. They provide many services, helping with activities, accompanying residents when they travel, friendly visits, and many other interesting activities. If you were interested in becoming a volunteer, contact our Activities Department; we would enjoy answering any questions that you may have.
